I LOVE SCARFS SO MUCH that sometimes instead of wearing them as an accessory, I like making them the center piece. I do so either because I admire the scarf print so much I believe it deserves nothing but full attention, or because I have one of those days when I am not in the mood and I want to go for a simple, yet impactful outfit. With their glossy texture and their usually intricate prints, silk scarfs add a very effortless elegance that provides all the necessary impact.
I’ve learned that the best way to style them is to layer them on top of simple and clean outfits, because silk scarfs – especially those with busy prints – tend to clash with pieces that are more designed, or so to say. They tend to overwhelmed them. Although silk scarfs are typically perceived as being more feminine, my idea was to pair it with a menswear inspired look in an attempt to achieve a harmonious juxtaposition of soft and strong.
