I WANT TO REFER TO SEPTEMBER as the twilight of summer, but this September has been so indecisive, it has become a styling nightmare. It’s like it wants to be cold, but then again, it changes its mind and blasts heat. I expect the autumn opening month to behave more like autumn, despite the fact that more than half of it officially belongs to summer. I expect the temperature that met me at the front door and that made me rush back for that extra jacket, be consistent with the temperature that meets me at the bus station 5 minutes later. I expect to wear the clothes that I washed just yesterday at least one more time before having to return them in the laundry basket that feels bottomless during the summer months.
The wake me up when September ends feels have never been stronger.
So yes, shorts are still in the game as well as hats, this stripped one being one of my favorite finds this summer. I will admit, the bow won me over. And well, it’s blue. If you haven’t figured it out yet, for me the if it’s blue it’s cool philosophy stands strong. I mentioned these shorts when I was giving you tips on how to get started with sewing. One summer I was bored and didn't have my sewing machine with me, so I sewed three pairs of shorts, including these navy ones with stripped details on hand. It took me so long to finish, but hey, I was a high school student, my summer was uneventful, and making clothes always makes me happy. I've worn them for years, so it was a time well spent. What do you think?
