MUCH TO MY DISMAY, MY midterms did prevent me from attending FWSK (Fashion Weekend Skopje), yet I was lucky enough to be back in my hometown during Bitola Fashion week and attend some of the shows there. In what will probably be an eclectic post, I will try to incorporate both the shows I attended with the shows I wish I had attended to show you guys some of the happenings on the fashion scene in Macedonia.
Sitting in the first row, two consecutive nights, I was able to view the collections more closely and take some photos before my digital camera’s batteries died on me, and I realized that I had’t brought spare ones. Either way, I had fun, especially on the second night when I was able to attend the shows with my childhood best friend. It was fun sharing opinions/gossiping about the clothes as they were walked down the runway.
The photos above I managed to take during the first two shows. I felt I was missing out on the detailed embroidery and the actual designs by desperately trying to get a good shot, so I quickly gave up on playing the photographer role, and decided that I would be better off downloading photos from online later.
P.S. Heaps of thanks to the modeling agency Metropolis Bitola for enabling me to sit in the first row.
Here are photos taken by the more-skilled-than-me photographers. There were six more collections, but sadly I couldn’t find photos from those yet.
